Reflecting on #plasticfreejuly

It is the end of #plasticfreejuly, but that doesn’t mean we stop striving to become more sustainable every day. We are always trying to improve, determined to be progressive as a company and as individuals. As you are aware, Collected by Day True is the newest member of the Day True family, and from the get-go we have always had the best interest of the planet at the forefront of our minds.
Brands such as The Organic Company are incredible, supplying products that are made from organic cotton and are certified with the international organic standard GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). This means that all fabrics are guaranteed to be free from toxins and heavy metals, as well as workers’ rights being respected and treated fairly. How amazing is that? I wish that all companies work like this as “good intentions aren’t enough. Change demands action”
To be honest with you, we haven’t embraced this global movement and national month as much as we wanted to, but that means that we can constantly improve…right?
So, to get started this month I have decided to be the first within the team to make a change. I am going to introduce The Organic Company’s Make-up Pads into my daily routine and try to step away from disposable single use items. Say goodbye to the makeup wipes and the cotton pads Chloe!
Being open, I am not a fan of reusable products such as these as I find that they tend to be scratchy. I also don’t like the fact that I can see all my makeup on them as well as seeing them getting progressively dirtier and stained (but that is just me being extra and fussy, haha!) This being said, I am determined to give these ones a go, and I will update you soon on my honest opinion. I have purposely chosen the dark grey to tackle these issues, so we are off to a good start!
In my mind, I already love the concept of this product as they are made from the offcuts from the production of the companies Waffle range, meaning that no material is wasted at their factory, woohoo!
I hope I can make this change permeant within my routine, trying to be better every day. If all goes well, I will encourage my team to covert too… so fingers crossed!
I’ll be back soon to let you know how I get on.
Chloe
