Description:
The 265 light is an iconic and sculptural wall mounted piece designed in the 1970's by an architect turned designer to provide both flexibility and reach – as perhaps only someone with such a particularly combined skill set might.
This is an articulate, articulated, counterbalanced and counterintuitive, large scale, wide-ranging wall lamp – providing direct light exactly where it's needed without taking up any floorspace at all. The devil is in the detail with this light, and the details are deceptively pure and simple in their reveal.
Position the balletic, sweeping arm exactly where you wish to find the light, and adjust the illumination from the comfort of a switch handily positioned just behind the shade – all the rest lies somewhere in the balancing of art and science with the graceful arc of some machine age acrobatics.
The light is pictured here on the top floor of our Wimbledon showroom; it is also available to view (and in use) in our Maida Vale showroom.
