One of the oldest games known to man, backgammon has a backstory that extends over thousands of years. Believed to have originated in the Middle Eastern ancient land of Mesopotamia (today's Iraq), it has travelled across cultures and eras keeping its game face as stylish as ever.
The Popham design team have adopted the tell tale elongated triangle pattern that marks out its field of play, creating a contemporary edge on this stylish tile that relies on placement (as do many of Popham's tiles) for the effects it can produce – either facing off or reflecting one side against the other. The traditional crafting of these tiles coupled with a layered design story traces, in fact, a similar path through history to the game itself.
This tile design is priced per box, each of which contains 0.87m2. There are 14 tiles per box.
