Created for Flos by design duo Barber and Osgerby, the 'Bellhop Floor' is a 2021 addition to the celebrated Bellhop family of lights.

Where the 'Bellhop Table' functions like an old-fashioned candle – a carrying form that diffuses light from below its upside-down bowl cap and reflects it gently back at anything or anyone in its surroundings – the Bellhop Floor stands tall to send its diffused light upwards.

A tall slim painted aluminium pole planted in a cast cement base holds aloft an upturned opalescent shade – exactly the same size and shape as any other Bellhop shade, just turned on its head and materially changed into delicate hand-blown glass to add a softening effect of its own.

Available here in our favourite three gloss laquer colourways: 'white' topped with a grey glass opalescent shade, or either 'cioko' (dark chocolate brown) or 'green' topped with white opal glass shading; whatever their colour during non-working hours, all three shades appear 'white' when illuminated for duty.

All the Bellhop family are intended to look elegant, feel ambient, and be 'kind' – they are in fact all you could want from light fittings designed to be beautifully luminous without being overly obvious or unduly eye-catching – they are just enough of everything, and precisely nothing more!
