And, speaking only for myself, this fabulously versatile item of soft cotton utility/clothing transports me back to ideas of the (apparently!) effortless wraparound 'hosting' glamour last seen in the heady days of the Bonnie Cashin-esque 'Chic is where you find it' 1950's.
And if you don't know who that is, hold that thought – the various Met Museum Costume Exhibits slated for later this year and next are sure to be referencing Ms C and her American sportswear-designing compatriots.
